With so many authorities and organisations protesting: Now Can we work together please?
A) After 8 years The Royal College of Midwives has caught up with Everglow. Raging at the failings and deaths. Support our campaign for maternity improvements and our Mother and Baby Residential Respite Home to help prevent mental illness when things go wrong for mothers and their babies
RCM warns women and babies are being failed as maternal deaths rise by 20%
B) Everglow is asking for Rebecca’s Law to fulfill these needs for improvement
The Maternal Mental Health Alliance: What needs to change-
With support from the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA), Laura Kyrke-Smith MP suggested four ways in which maternal mental health support could be improved in the UK:
- Protect existing community and inpatient specialist perinatal mental health services
- Embed mental health support in routine maternity care
- Expand community support for maternal mental health
- Improve education and awareness

This statement has been produced by the DCP Faculty for Perinatal Psychology.
27 February 2025
The purpose of this statement is:
To promote the delivery of trauma-informed care in maternity with the aim of preventing trauma responses in the context of childbirth or perinatal loss for staff, service users, and families
To ensure access to evidence-based, NICE recommended psychological assessment and therapies for those who experience distress, PTSD or other mental health problems in relation to their maternity experience
To ensure that any professional delivering psychological therapy for post-traumatic stress symptoms related to traumatic childbirth or perinatal loss have the appropriate professional background and training and access to appropriate supervision and governance structures
E ) Rebecca’s law again is needed here:
The Medicines and Health Regulatory Authority: are reviewing high risk medication used to treat perinatal mental illness what is missing? Rebecca’s Law to safeguard mothers and their babies from severe life threatening side effects and suicide.
F) The Royal College of Psychiatrists- The Silent Ones ?
Everglow is collaborating with Psychiatrists who are rebelling against their own methodologies, the high risk medications, treatments and the unnecessary damage when gentler, less risky interventions like Everglow’s are available.
Why play into the pockets of Pharmaceutical companies when we can save lives a better way?
G) RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS UPDATED 4TH FEBRUARY 2025:
The main findings show for females in England that had a birth event in 2019:
- the prevalence of PMH ( Perinatal mental health ) conditions is 25.8%
- the prevalence of CMDs is 25.3% ( Common mental health conditions)
- the combined prevalence of SMI,( Severe mental illness) personality disorders and eating disorders is 1.2%
- regionally there is higher prevalence of PMH conditions in the north (27.5% in the North East, 27.1% in Yorkshire and the Humber) than in the south (24.7% in London and 24.6% in the South East)
In addition, the review identified that:
- PMH need may be underestimated in areas with a higher proportion of females from ethnic minorities, who have had a birth event
- PMH need is higher in areas with younger populations and higher levels of deprivation
Note: PMH need is the proportion of females with a PMH condition.
